Lately, I’d been feeling like my living room was a little... uninspired. The bones of the space were fine, but it lacked warmth and personality. I didn’t want to do a full overhaul—just a refresh. So, I challenged myself to make it feel cozy, curated, and a little boho-chic, using only a few simple (and budget-friendly) additions.
Spoiler alert: A rug, some pillow covers, two decorative mirrors, and new curtains made all the difference.
I started with a neutral, textured area rug that instantlygrounded the space. It’s soft underfoot, adds visual warmth, and defines theseating area beautifully. (This one’s a bestseller and superaffordable!)
Instead of buying all new pillows, I opted for a fewboho-style pillow covers and earthy tones. I mixed textures—think cotton, velvet, and texture—to give the couch a layered, lived-in feel.
I hung two small boho-style decorative mirrors on the wallnear the window. Their wood frames and they bounce light beautifully across theroom—perfect for creating a more open, airy vibe.

I swapped my plain curtains for linen-blend ones in a softoatmeal shade. They drape beautifully, give the room height, and soften theoverall look.
To finish off the space, I added a floor lamp with amodern-boho vibe—clean lines, warm light, and a natural black or brass metalfinish (depending on your choice). Not only does it brighten up the evenings, but it also creates a cozy corner vibe near the sofa. Lighting is so underratedwhen it comes to styling a space, and this one seriously elevated the room.

Before, my space felt kind of cold and pieced-together.Now, it feels cozy, intentional, and more like me. The boho accentsadd warmth without overwhelming the space, and everything I used was fromAmazon, delivered fast and on budget.

I’d love to hear how you’ve updated your living roomrecently—or what you’d love to change.
